The Integrative Business Experience is a course offered at the University of Central Missouri by the Harmon College of Business Administration. The IBE program consists of four courses. These courses include Principles of Organization and Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing Policies, and the IBE Practicum. The goal of IBE is to put core concepts that the students have learned in classes and apply them to the real business world. The class is divided into companies of 25 students each. The students then must decide on a product and design a business plan. The business plan is presented to bankers in order to obtain a loan to begin the business. Company members sell the product throughout the semester and all profits are donated to charity. Students are also required to do community service for a charity. At the end of the semester, we donate the profits to our charity and complete a sustainable service project. |
