What is IBE? |
|
The Integrative Business Experience within the Harmon College of Business at the University of Central Missouri, is a twelve hour block of classes where students are given the opportunity to gain real world experience from inside the classroom. The block includes a management course, a marketing course, a computer information systems course, and a three-hour practicum. Students are divided into companies of twenty-five members and must create their business from start to finish. Each company is responsible for developing a product, applying for a loan, and choosing a charity to donate all profits to. Also throughout the semester students are required to donate their time towards building a sustainable service project as well as completing service hours for their chosen charity. In developing a company from start to finish, students learn processes, skills, and techniques that will be applicable for them in the business world. |
