What is IBE? The Integrative Business Experience (IBE) is a set of 4 classes that meets 3 times a week here at the University of Central Missouri. The classes involved are Management of Organizations, Management Information Systems, Marketing Policy, and an IBE practicum. The sole purpose of IBE is for students to get a hands on experience of creating and running a business. Throughout the semester the students have split up into three companies and came up with a product, applied for a loan and then marketed and sold the product while paying off the loan by the end of the semester.
What happens with the profits (if any)? Wondering what happens with all the profits that each company brings in? Well, at the start of the semester the company comes up with and agrees on a charitable organization to donate all of the proceeds. Each company also completes a service project. Through this, the members of each company get an idea of what its is like to be a part of a non-profit organization. For more information, please visit ibe.ucmo.edu.
