Integrative Business Experience
Integrative Business Experience, or
IBE, is an interactive program at the University of Central Missouri
that allows students to collectively work together and learn what
structures a business. There are three classes taught that coincide
with this program: Marketing, Computer Information Systems, as well as
a Management. Students are divided into separate companies and then
apply the information learned throughout these courses in hopes of
creating a successful business. Is this a legitimate business? The
answer is yes. We must brainstorm several products, determine what will
best hit our target market, get a loan through the bank, contact a
supplier, and sell our product to turn profit.
Handling Revenue and Profit
Our company, Mo Undercover, has a
very detailed inventory and controls system set up so we know how many
units are sold and who has position of remaining supply. Revenue is
collected every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and deposited into the
company account at the back. From there we proceed to pay our utilities
for our office and make payments to the supplier. Once we turn a
profit, we are giving straight back to the Warrensburg community. We
have come up with a budget to help support two charities. Therefore, no
one gets a salary for we feel it is going to a greater good.
