What is IBE?
The general idea of IBE is to get students to have
a hands on experience with the real business world. Integrative Business
Experience (IBE) consists for 4 classes which include Marketing,
Management, CIS and a practicum course. The practicum course is where we
truly get the business experience. For the practicum the professors
split us into 3 different companies and in the practicum time period we
then elect our leaders, choose our product, choose our service project,
apply for a loan, pay off the loan and sell our product! However, all
this has to be done within the semester!
Love makes the world go round!
Service Projects are what make this experience
worthwhile. The company has the opportunity to choose any charity to
donate all their profits to and some amount of community service hours.
Having the students do a service project gives them an idea of what it
feels like to be part of a non-profit organization and give back to the
community.
